Practices that have fallen irreversibly…

Marouf Al-Daouk wrote in “Al-Liwaa”:

Political sources likened the comprehensive revolution that occurred in the positions of the majority of representatives, on the night of the process of naming the next Prime Minister, and their choice of Judge Nawaf Salam, instead of the resigned Prime Minister, Najib Mikati, to the night of the coup against naming former Prime Minister Saad Hariri, on these days in the year 2011. By naming President Najib Mikati to replace him, despite the difference in time, circumstances and alliances.

She pointed out that the opposition forces, which at that time included Hezbollah, the Amal Movement, the Free Patriotic Movement, and their allies, turned against all the understandings emanating from the Doha Agreement, and against the results of the parliamentary elections, in which the March 14 Forces coalition, led by Saad Hariri, won 71 seats in the Parliament, compared to 57. To the opposition, the national unity government headed by Hariri was unilaterally overthrown, then it included to its ranks President Najib Mikati, who was He ran on the list of the Future Movement in Tripoli and won the parliamentary seat. It also included the former head of the Progressive Socialist Party, Walid Jumblatt, and his bloc, from which MP Marwan Hamadeh defected that day.

Under the pressure of repeated threats, Hezbollah’s armed demonstrations, what was called the Black Shirts at the time, and Assad’s pressure, these forces nominated President Najib Mikati to head the government, instead of Hariri during the era of President Michel Suleiman, and formed a one-color government, which was called at the time the Hezbollah government par excellence. Which plunged Lebanon into a spiral of disagreement and sharp political division, resulting in Lebanon being forced into the Syrian-Iranian alliance, isolating Lebanon from the sisterly Arab countries and the world, and deteriorating the economy. Lebanese, as a result of the deterioration of trade exchange activity, the reluctance of Arab investors to invest in Lebanon, and a noticeable decline in the number of Arab visitors and vacationers to Lebanon.
At that time, the opposition coalition did not take into account the existing political balances in Lebanon, and bypassed them without batting an eyelid, and turned against the results of the parliamentary elections, and did not establish real participation and the formula of coexistence in practice and reality, except from some rebels and mercenaries, as well as the charter that it demanded to form the new government in Nowadays, it remains marginal, and far from its reality on the ground.

This time, the opposition coalition tried again to take control of the new government, by nominating Mikati and standing behind him and supporting him, so that he could repeat the formula of controlling the state’s policy and decisions, based on the fact that the presidency of the republic had gone to his political opponents after the election of President Joseph Aoun, and therefore the new government must be From the share of the aforementioned coalition, and he accompanied his attempts to promote that the election of the president comes as part of a deal, in which the presidency of the republic will be the share of the party’s opponents, while the head of the new government must be from the share of the new coalition.
However, the reality of things these days, and the pressure of changes, did not match the ambitions of the aforementioned coalition, and some aspects of the election of the President of the Republic, Joseph Aoun, were excluded from the process of naming the next Prime Minister, and after Mikati was ahead of all his opponents nominated to head the new government, the positions of most of the representatives who supported Naming him, choosing Judge Salam for this mission.

What the Shiite duo, specifically Hezbollah, was practicing, by intimidating its political opponents with weapons, to forcefully impose the prime minister, the ministers, and quotas according to the party’s measure and interests, has fallen irreversibly, and accepting reality has become better than remaining out of the game these days.
