Vice President Trump announces a likely date for the Gaza agreement
US Vice President-elect J.D. Vance said he believes an agreement to release hostages held by Hamas in Gaza may be reached before President-elect Donald Trump returns to the White House next week.
Vance added in an interview with “Fox News Sunday”: “We are optimistic that there will be an agreement reached at the end of the Biden administration, perhaps in the last two days.”
He pointed out that “the consequences of not releasing the hostages before January 20 may include enabling Israel to eliminate the last Hamas brigades and their leadership, in addition to imposing very severe sanctions on individuals who support terrorist groups in the region.”
