Mneimneh withdraws his candidacy in favor of Nawaf Salam

MP Ibrahim Mneimneh announced on Sunday evening that he was withdrawing his candidacy for prime minister in favor of Nawaf Salam.

Mneimneh wrote through his account on the “X” platform: “In compliance with my statement of candidacy for the presidency of the government, in which I affirmed my openness to any proposal that achieves the highest interest of our country and the aspirations of our people and is in line with our political and reformist titles and the swearing-in speech of the President of the Republic, and after contacts with a number of blocs and representatives led to… By agreeing on the name of Judge Nawaf Salam, given the added value he represents for Lebanon and the position of prime minister, and his moral character and professional career, I announced the withdrawal of My candidacy in favor of Judge Salam, calling on my fellow representatives to give the broadest support for this nomination, as it constitutes a real opportunity to restore our state and launch the rescue workshop.”
