The first government of the era is facing crises and laying the foundations for a phase of stability and reform

Dawoud Rammal wrote in Al-Anbaa Al-Kuwaiti: In a step that bears indications of the importance of the next stage, the President of the Republic, General Joseph Aoun, hastened to set a date for binding parliamentary consultations next Monday, to appoint the Prime Minister of the first government of the era. This step reflects his awareness of the magnitude of the challenges facing Lebanon in light of the multiple crises that put pressure on various political, economic and social levels.

A parliamentary authority said: “This government comes in an exceptional circumstance, as it is responsible for dealing with crucial issues starting in the south, where the security situation there requires a diplomatic and field effort to ensure stability and avoid escalation. The reconstruction of the areas affected by the recent events represents a priority to stabilize citizens in their land and strengthen their steadfastness.”

The authority added, “At the same time, the next government faces a major challenge in filling the vast voids in public institutions and administrations as a result of retirement and immigration, which requires developing a comprehensive plan to rebuild and activate the public sector, to ensure the provision of basic services and keep pace with the aspirations of citizens.”

He explained that “at the external level, restoring Lebanese relations with Arab countries and the international community is a top priority, especially after years of tension that negatively affected Lebanon’s economic and diplomatic reality.” The authority considered that the most important thing is that “this government will have to prepare for the parliamentary elections expected after a year and four months, ensuring the holding of transparent and democratic elections that reflect the will of the people and establish a new phase of political action.”

He stressed that “the first government of the era faces a dual mission: confronting the current crises on the one hand, and laying the foundations for a phase of stability and reform on the other hand.” This requires collective action and exceptional efforts to turn the page on crises and open new horizons for Lebanon.”

These are the initial steps for Lebanon to regain the trust of the Arab and international community
