The Houthis announce the targeting of an American aircraft carrier in the Red Sea

Today, Saturday, the Houthis announced the implementation of a military operation targeting the American aircraft carrier USS Harry Truman in the Red Sea, using a number of missiles and drones.

The Houthi military spokesman, Yahya Saree, said in a statement: “We carried out a joint military operation targeting the American aircraft carrier and a number of its warships.”

Saree explained, “The clash with the aircraft carrier and its vessels lasted nine hours, and this was the fifth attack since the carrier arrived in the Red Sea.”

The military operation successfully achieved its goals, and the carrier was forced to leave the region and flee to the far north of the Red Sea.

Regarding the military escalation, Yahya Saree affirmed the readiness of the Houthi forces to confront any American or Israeli escalation against Yemen, indicating that military operations will continue until “the aggression stops and the siege on the Gaza Strip is lifted.”

This is the second attack that the Houthis have announced carrying out against the USS Harry Truman within 24 hours. (Sky News)
