In this context, Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri, on behalf of “the Lebanese nation and the Lebanese, congratulated the election of Joseph Aoun as President of the Republic, especially in these critical circumstances, specifically in southern Lebanon, where your people there are being exposed to the ugliest and harshest of any war. Therefore, Lebanon needs… Everything, the South needs it, all Lebanon needs it, and we are all waiting for the new era.”

President Saad Hariri was also one of the first to congratulate General Joseph Aoun, as he said in a post on “X”: “Congratulations to Lebanon, the state and the people, on the election of General Joseph Aoun as President of the Republic, and reviving hope for restoring life to constitutional institutions to face the difficult challenges, and there are many of them in these. Al-Ayyam… Congratulations to His Excellency President General Joseph Aoun.

The Minister of Interior and Municipalities in the caretaker government, Bassam Mawlawi, also wrote on his account on the “X” platform: “The Leader… as President of Lebanon, a leader of the state-building process.” Congratulations to Lebanon, President of the Republic.”

Meanwhile, Representative Raji Al-Saad pointed out, through his account on “X”, that “I am pleased to celebrate with the Lebanese the election of General Joseph Aoun as President of the Republic after a long presidential vacancy.” The road is long, and we will work with His Excellency the President to restore state sovereignty and rebuild institutions and the economy on sound and scientific foundations to secure the advancement that all Lebanese seek.”

He hoped that “everyone would cooperate to fulfill the provisions and covenants mentioned in this speech,” pledging “to provide full support to the new era for the success of its national missions.”

Member of the Strong Republic Bloc, Representative Ghada Ayoub, congratulated the Lebanese men and women on the election of General Joseph Aoun as President of the Republic.
