Have Armenian representatives decided on their presidential choice in tomorrow’s session?
Secretary General of the Tashnak Party, MP Hagop Pakradounian, said that the Armenian parliamentary bloc will wait until the morning hours of tomorrow, Thursday, to make a decision regarding the election of a president of the republic based on what developments may occur before tomorrow’s session.
In an interview on Al-Jadeed TV, Pakradounian said that the Tashnag seeks a broader consensus on the name of the future president.
The Central Committee of the Tashnak Party held a session this evening to discuss the eligibility for presidential elections.
The committee stressed in a statement the importance of putting an end to the vacuum in the first place in the Lebanese Republic, and achieving this entitlement so that the work of institutions is regulated and the Lebanese state regains its political health.
She reiterated her emphasis on the need to reach the broadest consensus around a figure who enjoys trust and support who can unite the Lebanese, embody national unity, lead the reconstruction phase, and restore Lebanon to its vanguard position with the interest of all factions.
The statement indicated that from this standpoint, and after deliberating on the results of the communications conducted with the various parties concerned with this entitlement, the committee decided to continue working with all parties to culminate in the parliamentary session that will be held tomorrow with the election of the President of the Lebanese Republic, by formulating a comprehensive consensus position that grants the President Al-Atid has the broadest national legitimacy that far exceeds the votes required for election.
