Trump’s son arrives in Greenland, and Denmark responds strongly

Donald Trump Jr., the son of the US President-elect, arrived in Greenland amid speculation about the new US administration’s intention to seek to control this Danish territory, which is famous for its mineral wealth and is home to an American military base.

The official Danish radio reported that Junior’s plane landed in the capital, Nuuk, a city with a population of about 57,000 people. Local media also showed scenes of him walking on the snow-covered airstrip.

In a statement on the “Rumble” social platform, Trump Jr. confirmed that he does not aim to “buy Greenland,” saying: “I am only here as a visitor and will talk to people.”

His father, Donald Trump, said earlier Tuesday that he did not rule out the use of military or economic force to solve his problems regarding the Panama Canal and Greenland.
