The army commander is not the only candidate

The meeting that took place in the residence of Representative Fouad Makhzoumi on Tuesday morning, which included the American envoy Amos Hockstein and representatives from various parliamentary blocs, discussed the file of the ceasefire and Israeli withdrawal.

During the meeting, Hockstein stressed the need for Lebanon, and implicitly any future president, to adhere to the Taif Agreement and the necessary agreements and reforms, according to what Al-Jadeed reported.

He said that “we are facing a golden opportunity,” naming the Army Commander, General Joseph Aoun, as one of the supported candidates for the presidency of the republic, stressing at the same time that he is not the only candidate.
