No one can impose a president on the Lebanese people

Member of the Loyalty to the Resistance Bloc, Representative Hassan Fadlallah, stressed that electing the President of the Republic is the responsibility of the Lebanese through their parliament, and no one from abroad, no matter how much pressure he exerts and under any name or demand, can impose on the Lebanese people a president, or dictate to them conditions regarding the election process. Or how to manage their country. The attempt to impose a president from abroad collides with national resistance that prevents the confiscation of the decision of the Lebanese. There are those who do not understand the nature of internal balances and the composition of Lebanon, which prevents any exclusivity or imposition. External opinions at the expense of the opinion of the Lebanese majority, and all attempts that took place in the past collided with the will of the true sovereign powers that reject any external dictates, and do not accept that others impose their interests on them at the expense of Lebanon’s interest.

Fadlallah’s words came during the honoring ceremony held by Hezbollah for the martyrs Ibrahim Muhammad Qubaisi, Abbas Ibrahim Sharaf al-Din, Hussein Hani Izz al-Din, Hussein Ahmed Awali, Muhammad Hussein Rabah, and Ali Hassan Hammoud, where he called on everyone not to wait for the password from the outside, because The secret is exposed, and everyone knows the truth about the foreign interventions and attempts to capitalize on the facts that occurred in Lebanon and the surrounding region in order to change the balances at home. This is a dangerous game that will fall at the doors of the Parliament with free Lebanese will. Note that while we reject any external dictates, we have no objection to providing foreign aid to Lebanon, but without political conditions, as the Lebanese choose their president of their own free will, and assistance is given to whoever is elected by a national decision.

He said: We have a clear constitution that specifies how to elect the president, his mechanism, and the number of representatives required to attend and vote, and we are committed to it, and we go to the session to elect the president with a unified position with the Amal Movement, and we have one reading of the nature of this election and for whom we will vote, and the constitutional principles will govern this entitlement, and what we heard. From Prime Minister Nabih Berri’s reaffirmation that he is entrusted with implementing the constitution in the presidential election, and no one inside or outside will be able to bypass its provisions.

Fadlallah stressed that internal understandings are the necessary gateway to electing the president, and we are advocates of understanding and rejection of exclusion and isolation, and we call on everyone to actual partnership in building the state, and we are an essential part of this state that we want to be fair, strong, and capable of exercising its role, not to be based on the interests of the people. This party or that, and we are working to apply the law to everyone without discrimination, and for fair accountability to prevail, and to move away from the language of incitement, misinformation, and attempts to divide the Lebanese and distance them from each other. Also, some officials should stop making useless objections or presenting credentials to obtain gains in the future. From our position in the state and through constitutional institutions, we will confront the attempts of some officials or official agencies to implement agendas that conflict with the law. In parallel with our parliamentary oversight, there is oversight. Popularity is always there to be by our side.

He stressed that the true expression of the state’s sovereignty is its defense of its land and its people, and this begins from a practical national stance to confront the Israeli attacks on Lebanon. We are facing Israeli violations of the ceasefire and from our position in the state, we follow up daily with the concerned authorities on this matter, because the state is responsible. There are big questions among the people of the South about the reason for the delay in implementing the agreement, the slowness of the Lebanese official procedures, and the absence of any official movement on the ground. This policy increases people’s doubts about their state on the one hand, and makes them more Adhering to their resistance on the other hand.

Fadlallah concluded: We are aware of the danger of investing in the facts of the Israeli aggression, but we know how to confront and confront any attempt aimed at changing internal balances or imposing facts that affect the interests of our people.

The celebration included the recitation of clear verses from the Holy Qur’an, and a Hosseini condolence council for the souls of all the martyrs.
