The Observatory indicated that two members of the security forces in the Military Operations Department were killed in the Al-Awaina neighborhood in Latakia, in a bomb attack thrown by a wanted man accused of committing war crimes, while members of the security forces were able to liquidate the wanted man.
The Observatory did not mention the name of the person accused of committing war crimes and who was liquidated.
The Observatory added that the Military Operations Department arrested two wanted persons yesterday, Sunday, on charges of committing massacres against the people of the city of Baniyas in the countryside of Tartous.
In the city of Al-Tall in the Damascus countryside, the security forces launched a search campaign in search of weapons that were stolen from the military units of the former regime, in addition to arresting wanted persons on charges of committing crimes and violations. The security forces were able to arrest dozens.
On Sunday, the city of Al-Sanamayn in the Daraa countryside, southern Syria, witnessed violent clashes between several parties, which led to a state of chaos and a security alert.
The Military Operations Department official said, “Violent clashes took place between several parties in the city of Al-Sanamayn in the Daraa countryside, as a result of which our forces were mobilized and headed to the site of the clash.”
The official explained to the Syrian News Agency: “After the intervention of our forces, it was agreed to immediately resolve the clashes between all parties, and we took over all government places and provided protection for public facilities, in addition to withdrawing heavy and medium weapons from local groups.”
He continued that it was also agreed on “the deployment of our forces and the management of public security and the placement of barriers in the region, and we indicated that the parties can file personal lawsuits to the court and everyone will be tried in court.” (Sky News)
