He talked about Lebanon and resembles the commander of the Revolutionary Guard.. A “mysterious” Iranian man who sparked controversy in Syria. Watch the video

A video clip spread on social media, showing an Iranian man crippled near Hmeimim Military Airport in Latakia, sparked widespread controversy.

In the video, the man, who did not reveal his identity or the reason for his presence in Syria, appeared speaking in incomprehensible words about Iran, Lebanon, Syria, Israel, and Russia.

The Iranian man said, while trying to speak with difficulty in Arabic, that he had been waiting for 20 days near the airport, trying to leave Syria and return to his country, to no avail.

Syrian activists wondered why the man was left alone in his wheelchair after the fall of Bashar al-Assad’s regime, while others doubted his identity and demanded his arrest, considering that he might be claiming paralysis and belong to the Iranian forces that were in Syria.

The great similarity between him and the commander of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, Hossein Salami, also raised many questions among activists about the identity of the “mysterious” man, before Salami appeared at the commemoration of the killing of Qassem Soleimani in Tehran. (Sky News)
