To this end, we nominated the Army Commander… and there may be efforts to organize the session
Representative Bilal Abdullah considered that “the democratic meeting is pushing towards breaking the sharp vertical alignments in the country. We have presented many initiatives and endeavors. What is required is a president who is consensual but has a mission and the balance of power in the House of Representatives has not changed despite the major transformations in the region.”
Abdullah stressed in an interview with “Voice of All Lebanon” that “it is required to reach a consensual name capable of reassuring the concerns of the Lebanese and carrying out the reform and reconstruction mission and opening Lebanon to the Arab depth. To this end, we nominated the army commander, Joseph Aoun, in the consensual and unified direction, and no one should feel “He is targeted or oppressed.”
Abdullah thanked the foreign efforts in the presidential file, pointing out that “if we were not unable to solve our problem, there would be no foreign effort. They want to help us, and we each adhere to our position, and everyone outbids the other in terms of sovereignty.”
He added: “We are counting on the awareness of the political blocs to mature an internal Lebanese solution supported by the outside. The outside can help, but it cannot vote for us as Lebanese. We are in constant coordination with Speaker Berri, but this does not necessarily mean that we are voting in the same direction.”
When talking about the extent of the possibility of producing a president on the ninth of this month, Abdullah said: “I do not know if the 9/2 session will produce a president, and I do not want to get ahead of things, but signals have arrived from various quarters indicating that if there is a predominance of a particular option, there may be There are efforts to postpone or postpone the session, but as a democratic meeting, we will not disrupt the quorum, and we will continue the session, regardless of the options and results.”
