According to data from the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade, published Saturday on its official website, private car sales rose significantly, reaching 1.554 million cars, an increase of nearly 50% over the previous year, which recorded 1.057 million cars.

Also, the numbers contained in the ministry’s document showed that sales of light commercial cars increased by 34%, from 105,000 to 140.3 thousand cars, while bus sales increased by 16%, from 17.8 thousand to 20.57 thousand. On the other hand, sales of new trucks witnessed a decrease of 13%, falling from 140.2 thousand to 121.56 thousand.

The Ministry indicated that the number of new cars produced locally reached 829.87 thousand cars, representing 45.2% of total sales, an increase of 28% compared to 2023.

Regarding the regions with the best sales of new cars, the capital Moscow topped the list with 202.5 thousand cars sold (+13%), followed by the Moscow suburbs with 111.5 thousand cars (+7%), then Saint Petersburg with 91.9 thousand cars (+6%). , Krasnodar with 78.34 thousand cars (+5%), and finally Tatarstan with 75.26 thousand cars (+5%).
