An ISIS leader in the hands of the Malian army
The Malian army announced, on Saturday, the arrest of a prominent ISIS leader, Mohamed Ould Arkahil, known as “Abu Ruqaya” and also “Abu Hash,” in the Sahel region of Africa, following an intelligence operation.
The army added in a statement that, during the operation, the Malian forces were able to “neutralize a number of the organization’s fighters and seize large quantities of weapons, including components for manufacturing explosive devices.”
He also pointed out that “Abu Ruqaya” has been wanted for a long time, “for his pivotal role in coordinating many mass atrocities and violations against the population in the Minaka and Gao regions.”
