Naeem Qassem about the 60-day deadline: Our patience may run out before it expires
Qassem said that Qassem Soleimani was a strategic leader at the intellectual, political, and jihadi levels, noting that his achievements appeared through his movement, way of thinking, and field and political plans. He added that Soleimani played a pivotal role in exposing America’s plans, especially in Iraq and Afghanistan, and thwarting its mobile projects in the region. He also pointed to his role in linking the resistance arenas in the region, which contributed to their steadfastness and the restoration of the Palestinian cause to its presence as a central axis for the people of the nation.
Regarding the martyr Abu Mahdi Al-Muhandis, Qasim said: He was a prominent figure in Iraq, and his role was influential and significant in liberating his country from Saddam, America, and ISIS, praising his struggle and support for the Iraqi resistance.
Qassem spoke about the steadfastness of the resistance in Lebanon since the Israeli invasion in 1982 until the liberation in 2000, saying: Despite the Israeli enemy’s invasion and its arrival in Beirut within days, the Islamic and national resistance continued to confront it until the land was liberated.
He pointed out that in 2024, Israel tried to advance hundreds of meters into Lebanese territory, but failed to reach the Litani River thanks to the strong resistance it faced. He added: Israel requested a ceasefire, and Hezbollah agreed through the Lebanese state. At the time of the truce, the resistance still had significant capabilities and a strong presence, which broke the power of Israel, which aimed to strike the resistance project.
Qassem stressed that what happened in Syria almost happened in Lebanon had it not been for the steadfastness of the resistance, and the Syrian people will continue their resistance to Israeli expansion in the future.
Qassem stressed that the resistance is a strategic choice to liberate the land, protect sovereignty, and support the Palestinian cause in the face of the expansionist occupation, explaining that it is the resistance leadership that decides the timing and method of response. He stressed that there is no timetable that specifies the performance of the resistance, whether in the ceasefire agreement or after the 60-day deadline.
He added: Our patience with Israeli violations is linked to our appropriate decision, and it may run out before the deadline expires or may continue. It is the resistance leadership that decides when to be patient and when to respond, pointing out that our patience may run out before or after the 60 days, when we decide to do something that you will see directly.
He stressed that the agreement includes only the south of the Litani River, and the state must follow up on its implementation with international sponsors to ensure that Israel’s hand is restrained. As for claims that the resistance has weakened, they are not true. After the assassination of Nasrallah, the resistance was able to quickly recover and regain its strength, remaining an impregnable bulwark in the face of the occupation.
