We are working to deliver a consensus candidate

Al-Baarini said: Today we are on the cusp of electing a president of the republic, and we are working in the Moderation Bloc and with our colleagues in New Lebanon to deliver a candidate who enjoys consensus and meets the aspirations of the people. We hope that the January 9 session will result in a president who meets the aspirations of all Lebanese people, without exception.

He added: We in the Akkar region respect all people and every person who tries to promote the development of the region, but we stand as an impenetrable barrier in the face of political money that destroys and does not rebuild. We have an international road and Qlayaat Airport, and we have many things that require attention, and this is what we will work to achieve.

Al-Baarini concluded: Everyone knows that in Beirut and the decision-making centers they treat us with inferiority, and this is what we categorically reject, and this mentality must be completely disposed of. Compromise at the expense of our people is unacceptable, and we will raise our voice in our unity, as we are not subordinate to anyone and we only take our guidance from our people and the soil of our region.
