Officially… Somalia announces the end of its crisis with Ethiopia

Somali Foreign Minister Ahmed Moalim Faki announced the resolution of the conflict between his country and Ethiopia, pointing to “Somalia’s increasing diplomatic maturity, which enabled it to achieve this breakthrough.”

In a press conference in Mogadishu, Faki stressed “the importance of unity and cooperation in regional affairs,” explaining that “this agreement paves the way for improving cooperation and stability between Somalia and its neighbors in the region.”

He expressed his optimism about the future, noting that “this diplomatic breakthrough could lead to partnerships that benefit not only Somalia but the entire region.”

He also stressed that “the contentious issues with Ethiopia were resolved thanks to the patience and wisdom of Somalia, despite Ethiopia’s previous occupation of our land.”
