The “Tajdid” bloc confirmed that it will not accept the election of a president of the republic who does not possess the specifications that enable him to carry out the tasks required by the next stage, “in terms of restoring sovereignty and restricting weapons.”
She said, in a statement, after a meeting of opposition representatives: “We will continue to communicate in order to present our option without burning names.”
It called for completing the implementation of what was agreed upon in the ceasefire agreement, providing explanations of the violations to the Lebanese, and accelerating the handover of weapons.
She explained that this meeting comes as a continuation of the consultations to resolve decisions for the January 9 session.
She announced that she had come to an understanding about the necessity of abandoning the approach that has been in place for many years.
