Security forces suspected a passenger van driven by a Lebanese…and they were inside it (photo)

Within the framework of the continuous follow-up carried out by the Internal Security Forces to limit the illegal smuggling of people to and from within Lebanon, orders were given to intensify monitoring operations on the routes in which these operations are active in order to arrest those involved in them.

On 12/18/2024, as a result of surveillance operations carried out by the Information Division’s patrols, one of them suspected a “Toyota” silver passenger van in Barqayel Junction, where it was seized and its driver was arrested. He is called:

A. A. (Born in 1985, Lebanese) The smuggler
It also arrested 19 people of Syrian nationality on board the van for the crime of surreptitiously entering Lebanese territory, and seized the smuggler’s phone.

All detainees and the vehicle were handed over to the relevant department to take legal action against them based on the reference of the competent judiciary.
