Netanyahu’s trial.. Why was the session postponed today?

Israeli Channel 12 reported on Tuesday that the sixth session of the trial of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was suspended for a quarter of an hour after he received a security update.

Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper revealed that the Israeli General Security Agency (Shin Bet) recommended that Netanyahu’s hearings be transferred from the Central Court in Jerusalem to the city of Tel Aviv, explaining that this recommendation comes against the backdrop of sensitive security considerations.

Israeli Channel 12 reported that the Shin Bet’s decision was based on “highly confidential information,” without revealing the nature of this information.

Reports indicate that the proposed transfer of the session aims to ensure the highest levels of security protection for the Prime Minister, amid a charged political atmosphere and corruption issues that have sparked internal divisions in the country. (Russia Today)
