Koura and Akkar celebrated Palm Sunday

Christian denominations that follow the Western calendar celebrated Palm Sunday, where processions and masses were held in various churches in the Koura District, to mark the occasion.

In St. George Church in the town of Barsa, Priest Joseph Andari presided over the ceremonial mass, in the presence of the believers.

At the end of the mass, a procession was held around the church, including hymns and prayers, and children carried candles, olive branches, and palm fronds.

The parish priest of Margis in the town of Rasmusqa, Priest Rashid Choueiri, presided over the festive mass.

Then Father Choueiri delivered a sermon in which he discussed the meaning of Palm Sunday, stressing “the importance of humility and love.” In conclusion, the believers participated in a procession around the church.

The Christian sects that follow the Western calendar in Akkar celebrated Palm Sunday. Masses and Eid processions were held, and children carried palm fronds and candles decorated with olive branches and went around with their families in processions in the outdoor courtyards of the churches of Qobiyat, Andaqat, Manjez, Al-Talil, Deir Jenin, Baqarzla, Halba, Minyara, Manna, Khribat Al-Jard, and Beit Mellat.
