We welcome the decision of the International Court of Justice

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs welcomed the decision of the International Court of Justice to issue new temporary precautionary measures as part of the lawsuit filed by South Africa against Israel before the court on charges of committing the crime of genocide against the Palestinian people in Gaza, and violating its obligations under the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of Genocide.

The Ministry stressed “the importance of the court’s decision on the necessity of allowing the entry of humanitarian aid to stop the famine and the unprecedented humanitarian catastrophe that is inconsistent with all human and moral values.”

It called on “the international community to take immediate measures to stop the war on the Gaza Strip, stop Israeli violations of international law and international humanitarian law, and implement Security Council Resolution 2728, in addition to the comprehensive and complete implementation of Resolution 1701 issued by the UN Security Council, which guarantees calm and stability on Lebanon’s southern borders.” And stop the Israeli attacks and violations.”

“An exciting indicator… Lebanon is a country of paradoxes!
