The Minister of Health was presented with the French ambassador and global health representative joint projects


The Minister of Public Health, Dr. Rakan Nasser Al -Din, received in his office in the ministry today, the French ambassador to Lebanon Herve Macrao in a acquaintance meeting, during which he discussed cooperation projects in the field of health between Lebanon and France.

Nasser Al -Din noted “the importance of the positive support provided by France,” noting that “the time now is to rebuild what the Israeli aggression demolished and the continuation of building the health system, which cannot happen without a strategic plan that defines priorities,” adding in this field that he is “committed to implementing the strategic plan established that has been implemented since announced in December 2023”.

In turn, the French ambassador stressed that “after the education sector, the health sector is ranked second in the Lebanese -French cooperation, and this task will be completed in the next stage by providing support, assistance and work on the basis of the strategic plan that reflects a clear vision of developing the health sector.”

The joint projects were reviewed in an expanded meeting that officials in charge of these projects in the Ministry of Public Health and the embassy work team, most notably: twinning projects between government hospitals in Lebanon and French hospitals in the fields of cancer and heart treatment, dialysis, mother and child health, emergency services and intensive care, in addition to researching with the “Pasteur” Foundation in qualifying the central laboratory in partnership with the World Health Organization, and other projects related to mental health Initial health care, quality of services and digital health.

Also, Minister Nasser Al -Din, representative of the World Health Organization in Lebanon, received Dr. Abdel Nasser Abu Bakr and discussed the research projects and enhanced them with the aim of moving forward in developing the health system in Lebanon and facing the repercussions of the aggression.
