The car market in Israel…is suffering because of the war

The car import market in Israel witnessed a significant decline during the first quarter of 2024, according to Israeli customs data reported by the Globes website, which specializes in the Israeli economy, on Wednesday.

The figures reveal that a total of 89,041 cars were delivered during the first quarter, which represents a significant decrease of an estimated 16.6%, compared to the same period in 2023.

According to Globes, electric vehicles have significantly increased their market share, accounting for 25% of all deliveries in the first quarter of 2024, a notable increase from the 14.6% share recorded in the corresponding period last year.

The rise in the adoption of electric cars coincides with a noticeable increase in cars manufactured in China, which made 20,440 deliveries in the first quarter, representing an increase of 22% over the same period in 2023. (Al Jazeera Net)
