Gold prices hit new highs.. Here’s how much an ounce costs


Gold prices jumped more than 1 percent on Thursday to exceed $2,400 an ounce, after data showed that consumer prices in the United States unexpectedly fell last month, with prices hitting $2,406.99 an ounce, their highest level since May 22.

US gold futures also rose 1.4 percent to $2,412.60.

As for other precious metals, silver rose in spot transactions by 2.7 percent to $31.63 per ounce, its highest level since May 31.

Platinum also rose 1.9 percent to $1,008.35, and palladium rose 1.6 percent to $1,002.54. (Sky News Arabia)
