The Judicial Council issued its decision in the case of the terrorist bombing crime in Jabal Mohsen


In the case of the double terrorist bombing crime that occurred on January 10, 2015 in the Jabal Mohsen area, which led to a number of martyrs and wounded, the Judicial Council issued the following decision:

“The results of the investigations revealed the formation of a terrorist group in Lebanon led by Osama Mansour, the emir of the Al-Nusra Front in Tripoli, and Shadi Al-Mawlawi, affiliated with the Al-Nusra Front, and receiving its orders from “Abu Malik Al-Talla,” Jamal Zainiya, the emir of the Al-Nusra Front in Syria – Qalamoun.

This group worked to target the Lebanese army and fight battles against it in Tripoli.

It participated in the clashes between Jabal Mohsen and Bab al-Tabbaneh, and carried out military and security terrorist operations.

After the end of the battle against the army, this group decided to send suicide bombers to Jabal Mohsen, in retaliation for the bombings of the Al-Taqwa and Al-Salam mosques.

After planning and preparation, on January 10, 2015, around 7:30 p.m., the Lebanese suicide bombers Taha Al-Khayal and Bilal Al-Marayan, who belonged to the aforementioned group, carried out a double suicide bombing in the Al-Majzoub Cafe in the Jabal Mohsen locality.

This bombing resulted in the death of nine people, the wounding of dozens of people, and the outbreak of fires and destruction of property. It was found that the two suicide bombers were killed in the bombing.

This crime was referred before the Judicial Council pursuant to Decree issued by the Council of Ministers No. 1534 dated 3/12/2015.”
