To purchase new aircraft.. Egypt has begun the process of selling the Airbus aircraft it owns


Yehia Zakaria, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Holding Company of EgyptAir, said that the company has contracted to sell 12 Airbus A220-300 aircraft.

Zakaria added, in statements to Bloomberg, that the sale deal was due to the aircraft being unsuitable for climatic conditions, explaining: “We will use the proceeds of the deal to pay the price of the aircraft purchase loan.”

He continued: “We will deliver the first plane from the deal to Azur Aviation Company during the next month, and the rest of the planes will be delivered in batches.”

In a related context, EgyptAir signed a new deal to purchase 10 A350-900 aircraft, as part of the company’s constant endeavor to meet the growing demand for air transport and give its customers the best flying experience on its airline network extending throughout the world.
