Iranian gas exports to Iraq reach $15 billion
Iranian Deputy Oil Minister for Gas Affairs Majeed Jakni announced that Iran has exported about 52 billion cubic meters of gas worth $15 billion to Iraq since 2017.
Jakni said, on the sidelines of signing an agreement to extend the contract to export Iranian gas to Iraq: “With the expiration of the Baghdad and Basra contracts, we conducted several rounds of negotiations with the Iraqi side in Tehran and Baghdad to expand the export of Iranian gas to Iraq, and it was finally completed.”
He added: “Since the beginning of the contract signed in Baghdad and Basra, we have exported about 52 billion cubic meters of gas worth $15 billion to Iraq.” (Russia Today)
